Entanglement Entropy and Twist Fields
The entanglement entropy of a subsystem A of a quantum system is expressed, in the replica approach, through analytic continuation with respect to n of the trace of the n−th power of the reduced density matrix. This trace can be thought of as the vacuum expectation value of a suitable observable in a system made with n independent copies of the original system. We use this property to numerical...
متن کاملVoltage-Controlled Entanglement between Quantum- Dot Molecule and its Spontaneous Emission Fields via Quantum Entropy
The time evolution of the quantum entropy in a coherently driven threelevel quantum dot (QD) molecule is investigated. The entanglement of quantum dot molecule and its spontaneous emission field is coherently controlled by the gat voltage and the intensity of applied field. It is shown that the degree of entanglement between a three-level quantum dot molecule and its spontaneous emission fields...
متن کاملCasimir effect of strongly interacting scalar fields.
Non-trivial φ 4-theory is studied in a renormalisation group invariant approach inside a box consisting of rectangular plates and where the scalar modes satisfy periodic boundary conditions at the plates. It is found that the Casimir energy exponentially approaches the infinite volume limit, the decay rate given by the scalar condensate. It therefore essentially differs from the power law of a ...
متن کاملA Variational Approach to Homogeneous Scalar Fields in General Relativity
A result of existence of homogeneous scalar field solutions between prescribed configurations is given, using a modified version [8] of Euler–Maupertuis least action variational principle. Solutions are obtained as limit of approximating variational problems, solved using techniques introduced by Rabinowitz in [20].
متن کاملBose-Einstein condensation for interacting scalar fields in curved spacetime.
We consider the model of self-interacting complex scalar fields with a rigid gauge invariance under an arbitrary gauge group G. In order to analyze the phenomenon of Bose-Einstein condensation finite temperature and the possibility of a finite background charge is included. Different approaches to derive the relevant hightemperature behaviour of the theory are presented.
